Free Government Phone Service
73In order to qualify for free government phone service, you must already qualifying or be receiving other public assistant programs such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), National Free School Lunch, or Federal Housing/Section 8 Assistance. If you are not in any of those programs, they you would have to qualify based on your household gross monthly income.
The amount of free airtime minutes depends on the state that you live. Generally it comes out to around 60 minutes. Unused minutes carry over to the next month. TracFone will provide you a free cell phone and do not have to return it even though you cancel the program. Every year you will have to establish your eligibility for free government phone service. If your household gross income goes above the eligibility requirements then you can not sign up for free phone service. Visit Safelink Wireless to fill out their application and verification forms online. You should be getting your free phone soon if everything checks out.

You may be having a heart attack and need to call the ambulance. These are just some examples of why having a phone is so important.
In order to help people that are not able to pay for phone service, the government has supported a program which gives people free government phone service. The purpose of this program allows needy people to get free phone service. TracFone Wireless runs the Safelink Wireless program where they give a free cell phone with free airtime minutes to people.
